Successful concession demobilisation

The Client

The client held the concession to manage a Metro railway.

The Challenge

The concession needed to be completely handed back within a three month period, without disrupting service to passengers or creating any risk to the parent company.

What did we do?

In order to meet the deadline, we needed to update and refine the existing programme plan and risk matrix. Alongside this, we established clear governance and reporting structures.

We also:

  • Reviewed all the plans and risks and refined or reworked in liaison with the Managing Director and executive team; and
  • Gave particular attention to the IT and Data workstreams as these were considered higher risk areas.

The Outcome

The concession was handed back to the client on time.  All risks were fully understood and mitigated wherever possible. Lessons learnt were captured through workshops and one-to-one meetings for future demobilisations by the parent company.
